Stage

CURRENT
COMPLETE

The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee’s vision for the reinvention of this historic coastal site is to deliver a new Anglers Club, Restaurant and Public Space connected to the Lorne township and hinterland.

The Point Grey Design Competition seeks to bring creative ideas to this prominent coastal site, which is of vital importance to both Lorne’s rich and layered past and its economic future. The redevelopment will become a magnet for visitors and locals alike, transforming Point Grey into an iconic important Victorian destination and recreational hub, offering recreational, cultural, historic and dining experiences.

The winner of this competition is Searle x Waldron Architecture, Edwards Moore and Bush Projects. The project’s narrative of tidal flux and shifting water levels makes for a compelling design strategy and is commended as a highly successful collaboration of landscape architects and architects.
