Introduction
The result of a competitive design tender facilitated by CityLab, the Learning and Teaching Building is a multi-faculty learning facility that serves a significant proportion of the student teaching load.
Monash University’s Learning and Teaching Building is the new gateway to the Clayton campus from Wellington Road. The built outcome of this procurement process is a visually inspiring, world-class learning environment, designed to accommodate and enhance new learning experiences and engage with the campus’ landscapes.
The building has received numerous awards, including the National Award for Educational Architecture (AIA National Awards 2018), the National Award for Interior Architecture (AIA National Awards 2018), the Award for Interior Architecture (AIA Vic Awards 2018) and the Award for Educational Architecture (AIA Vic Awards 2018).
The winner of this competition is John Wardle Associates.
