Powerhouse Ultimo

Underpinned by a transformative $480-$500 million investment by the NSW Government, the Powerhouse Ultimo Renewal will establish a world-class museum that will significantly contribute to a vital design, technology and cultural precinct in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.

Together with the NSW Government and Powerhouse, CityLab invites architects from around Australia to present their vision for the renewal of Powerhouse Ultimo. The next phase will include an Expression of Interest, followed by a Design Competition.

Bringing together adaptive heritage reuse and contemporary museum practice, the renewal will see Powerhouse Ultimo deliver new galleries dedicated to design and fashion alongside, expanded support for creative industries and renewed spaces connecting and integrating the Powerhouse with the Sydney CBD.

In order to participate in the competition, you must first register your interest and your registration must be accepted.

Registrations for the Competition are now closed.
