The NGV Architecture Commission offers a unique opportunity for any Australian architect to propose a compelling design idea for presentation within one of Australia’s great civic and cultural spaces – the Grollo Equiset Garden at NGV International.

The design competition brief requests that the successful conceptshould be capable of performing multiple functions, with a ‘defaultsetting’ thatself activatesthrough audience participation.

The NGV Comission 2019 will open in November 2019.

The NGV Architecture Commission is an annual open competition, which asks architects to consider innovative ways to activate one of Melbourne’s great civic spaces, the NGV’s Grollo Equiset Garden, with a thought-provoking work of temporary architecture.
